Embracing Yahweh As The King Of Your Life
In our journey through life, we often find ourselves struggling to maintain control over our body, heart, and mind. We want to always be in control of this domain of self. Unfortunately, we often find ourselves operating under the influence of our feelings, emotions, hormones, disease, friends, family, drugs, drink and even devils whom we call spirits. We struggle against all these influences daily. Who is not struggling with something? We are under constant attack by spirits, and there are many such as; the spirit of negativity, the spirit of addiction, the spirit of depression, the spirit of lust, and the spirit of materialism.
Overcoming the Struggles:
How shall we win these struggles? Who can give us victory and allow us to live peacefully in the domain of self? Just as Yahweh worked through Jesus to cast out these spirits and heal the sick, we too can find victory when we submit ourselves to Yahweh’s influence.
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: (Matthew 8:17)
…and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. (Matthew 4:24)
Yahweh did those things through Jesus. He can do the same for us. He will give us victory over all these influences when we allow ourselves to be under His influence, when we let his will be done in earth as it is in heaven.
Yahweh’s Will in Our Lives:
Yahweh formed us from the earth. We are the vessels through which Yahweh’s will is done.
And Yahweh formed man of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:8)
When Yahweh is the only influencer seated on the throne of our heart, he puts the kingdom of self under our control. When we sit Yahweh on the throne of our heart, he does amazing things for us and through us.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one. (John 10:27-30)
Yahweh is Our Father and King:
Yahweh is not only our loving Father, but he is also our King. Jesus, our brother, is the way. He serves as the example we should follow. Yahweh loves us and He speaks to us. We know his voice. And we can discern it amidst the noise in our minds and experience His guidance and love. It is essential to bring our hearts, thoughts, and actions into obedience to Yahweh. We can accomplish this with Yahweh’s help. Call on Yahweh to help you in this world. We can’t do this life without him. We don’t have to. We are not alone. He is with us.
Once we are established in him, we can come together, build community, and accomplish things that none of us could do on our own. With the help of Yahweh, we can do anything that needs to be done. Without Yahweh we can do nothing.
Unity with Yahweh:
Jesus perfectly exemplified obedience to Yahweh’s will. He did nothing apart from Yahweh and functioned in complete agreement with Him. Jesus did everything in such complete agreement with Yahweh they became one. Likewise, we should strive to align our will with Yahweh’s, understanding that attempting to accomplish good solely through our own desires and efforts is futile. True goodness comes from serving Yahweh and surrendering to His will.
Jesus said, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”(John 5:30)
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for whatever things he does, these also the Son likewise does. (John 5:20)
You can’t say, “I’m just going to accomplice good things in life, because that’s what I want to do.” The moment you say words like I am going to, because I want to, and I will, you’re speaking of doing you’re will in service of yourself. Self-serving is in opposition to those things that will bring you peace and joy. When you say, “I’ll just do something good on my own,” – it won’t work, because good is another name for Yahweh. And to do good, you have to be in service to good, and that good is Yahweh.
To accomplish good things in life, you must do all your work according to Yahweh’s will. You may have already discovered the secret – your way doesn’t work. You didn’t create this world and you are not in control of it. You cannot for all your thinking add a year of life to yourself.
And which of you with taking thought can add to his age one cubit? If you then are not able to do that thing which is least, why take you thought for the rest? (Luke 12:25-26)
The Servant Nature:
As humans, we are inherently inclined to serve. We were created to serve, like birds were created to fly, and fish were created to swim. We are always in service to something, usually it’s what we love. We serve our spouse, our children, our parents, our jobs, our cause, our lusts, our passions, our addictions, Yahweh or the devil, whatever it is – it will be something. Think though, only one of those things can fully love and serve us, only one of those things understands our servant nature and is also in service to all that call out to Him. And we gain everything just by coming into service to Yahweh.
We know who Yahweh is. Yahweh is not like anyone or anything else in this world. Yahweh is perfect love. Yahweh never asks us to cause harm to others. He tells us first and foremost to love Him and to love others as we love ourselves.
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:36-40)
These two commandments encapsulate all ten commandments of the greatest King who has created all things: Yahweh, our Father, King of our earth. And what does it mean to serve our King? It means we must do our work for Yahweh wherever we find ourselves in life.
We see an example of this in Luke 3:9-14. John was preaching the Kingdom in the wilderness. People who had challenging positions in life as hoarders, publicans and soldiers came to him asking what shall we do? And john did not advise them to get other work but rather to do well in the work they had.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then? He answered and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do? And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. (Luke 3:9-14)
Embracing Our Work:
Often, we may feel dissatisfied or undervalued in our current situation in life. You may be in prison. Just because you think your situation (job) is lowly and worthless doesn’t mean Yahweh thinks so. You are a child; you don’t know what’s valuable and what’s not. There are others laboring at the job you hate, and Yahweh knows they need to see the wisdom and love of Yahweh in you, so they can have it too. By doing our work according to Yahweh’s will, we not only show the world that we are His children, but we also become the image of Yahweh, an embodiment of His love. And all may witness His love manifesting through us in our actions, which we do according to his will.
By making Yahweh the King of our lives, we can overcome the struggles that hinder us from living a fulfilling and purposeful existence. Through aligning our thoughts, actions, and desires with Yahweh’s will, we invite His transformative power. Let us embrace the role of a servant, following the example of Jesus, and allow Yahweh’s love to flow through us, impacting the lives of those around us. With Yahweh’s guidance, we can transform the world, bring the Kingdom of Yahweh to earth, and find true love, joy, and peace in our journey of life.
Great article and well-written truths. It is true that if we follow the words in the bible we can’t go far wrong. This is a book that gives us the wisdom and help that we need to cope with life and living your life according to the principles in the bible will lead to you having a full and happy life. Also don’t forget the power of prayer.
Thank you for your comment.
Jesus was the perfect example of obedience to the Father. He spent time in prayer with His Father. He only spoke what the Father wanted Him to speak. As a believer in Jesus, I strive to be like Jesus, but I know I fail. Jesus was perfect in this regard. In his perfect obedience to the Father, He even went to the cross. Having the King on the throne of our heart is essential. When we want to live by our own strength, we know that the wrong person is on the throne. Keeping Him on the throne is essential for right living.
Thank you for your comment. I agree Jesus is the way we are to follow. We are perfect in the way that people are perfect; when we do our best, and give it our all, and are willing to die for the cause. We can’t do better than that which Jesus modeled for us.
Your article on embracing Yahweh as the king of our lives presents a profound discussion about the struggles we face in maintaining control over ourselves amidst various influences. It’s evident that surrendering to Yahweh’s influence is presented as the solution to overcoming these struggles. The biblical references and analogies effectively convey the importance of aligning our will with Yahweh’s and serving Him wholeheartedly. However, while the emphasis on serving Yahweh and doing His will is clear, I’m left wondering about the practical steps or strategies you suggest for individuals to implement this in their daily lives. Thank you for offering thought-provoking insights into the transformative power of embracing Yahweh as the king of our lives. It has inspired me to align my actions with His will for a more purposeful existence.
Thank you for your comment. To make Yahweh king in our lives and dwell in His kingdom, we must first recognize the sovereignty of the Almighty and submit ourselves to His divine will. Here are a few practical steps to help us in doing so:
Seek a personal relationship with Yahweh: Dedicate time to prayer, meditation, and studying His Word, the Bible. Cultivate a deep connection with the Creator, allowing His presence to guide and shape your thoughts, actions, and decisions.
Live according to His commandments: Embrace the moral principles and teachings outlined in the scriptures. Strive to lead a life of righteousness, love, and compassion, treating others with kindness and respect.
Serve others: Yahweh’s kingdom is built upon selflessness and service. Look for opportunities to extend a helping hand to show love and compassion to your fellow human beings.
Practice forgiveness: Just as Yahweh forgives us our shortcomings; and we are called to forgive others. Let go of grudges and resentments and embrace the transformative power of forgiveness.
Share the good news: by walking in the way, following the will of Yahweh and living according to the example of Jesus. Spread the message of Yahweh’s love and salvation by how you live and work in your daily life. Share your faith with others by living in humility and gentleness, inspiring others to experience the joy of living in His kingdom.
I hope these steps are helpful to you.
We face so many distractions and spirits that challenge us on a daily basis. But if we follow Jesus, and the words that are written in the bible, then we cannot go wrong. The bible gives us the guidance and shows us the way to live our lives embracing the Lord.
This post is a great opening of a discussion about the importance of Jesus in out lives, and doing His will.
Thank you for your comment. Yahweh created us, loves us, and communicates with us. And, as you said, the Bible provides us guidance, which is why we should engage with it through reading, prayer, study, and discussion.
What a beautifully written post, with some very true words. Hard-hitting, but true. We do serve. That can be a good thing or a bad thing – when we serve our dark sides, needs, wants, demands, it tears us down. Opening ourselves to the words of Yahweh and to Jesus, and allowing ourselves to spread their love through those words, we can lift ourselves up to amazing spiritual heights. Great post, thank you.
Thank you for your comment.
Great, thorough post. I love your well-chosen quotes interwoven with utter sincerity and awe. Refreshing!
I was born a Christian but shifted towards Buddhism at quite an early age. I wanted to rely on myself in life, and that’s what Buddhism teaches. We are all Buddhas in the making (Bodhisattvas), so we must work on our shortcomings to exemplify the Middle Way perfectly and empower others.
The Bible is a beautiful, poetic book, and I know it well. But it does not apply to modern life when screens and technology, addictions, and massive delusions dominate people. They are so remote from their true nature that they often cannot find a way back.
I know deeply that I am the ruler of my thoughts and emotions, so my life is what I choose. No one else is in control, no creator or King. I can choose what kind of ruler I want to be!
I would love to discuss this more deeply.
Thank you for this thought-provoking article.
Blessings and Success.
Linden
Thank you for your comments, Linden. I welcome discussion.
My experience of my thoughts is more, “Thoughts rise in the mind like waves in the ocean.” from the Bhagavad Gita. I choose which thoughts I want to keep company with and pray to Yahweh to dismiss the others. My realization is that I am not in control and that lack of control means I am always in service to something. My choice is to choose what I will serve, and I choose Yahweh Yasharahla (the upright power), truth and love.
The bible is very interesting to me; it’s been altered but I still see an amazing amount of truth in it.
