Ha A Vowel!

The First Letter Is A

“The first letter is of the ancient biblical alphabet is an A.” my nephew said that to me as we were considering the Hebrew. It was true the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is A and A is a vowel. But A just isn’t any vowel in ancient Hebrew, it is the primary vowel. The consonants were often followed by the soft A sound as in Ha – look, behold. Sometimes though people use a long A sound as in Hay. When they say the ancients didn’t have vowels, they must mean they didn’t have E or I and O. There was no E at all, therefore where you see E think A. And I was Y.

W and U – More Research is Needed.

There was W and it may have made the U sound, which is also the oo sound.  The Ancient Hebrews  wouldn’t need vowels as long as they knew which letters produced the full range of sounds in their spoken language.

I love that when you are looking at ancient Hebrew, you’re looking at a language that was succinct. They didn’t need to waste extra space on the page writing vowels that were understood to follow the consonant. The language was superior to what we have today, in that each letter represented a whole word and not nonsensical sounds that need to be strung together before any word is formed.

This system of small words made learning the alphabet much easier. Imagine teaching the alphabet to a child saying B is for bird and literally meaning just that. The ancient Hebrew child easily learns the letter and the word. The more complicated, complex and convoluted method we have today of sounding out the various sounds each letter makes, and then learning to use those letters to make words, pales in comparison.

The Consonants J and V Are Not Part of Ancient Biblical Language

As for consonants in Biblical language there is no J or V these were Y and W. To decipher the full truth will take a collective effort. I look forward to the day when we can speak clearly. Until then we must sift through the ruins available to us leaning on our strength and power which is Yahweh (Jehovah/Yahawah).

Pray Research and Share

This website requests that you do your own research and pray for the revelation of truth. Yahweh (Yahawah) is always ready to reveal but we are not always ready to know. This is why in order to get a true understanding of the bible you are encouraged to use Strong’s and other biblical dictionaries including the basic English version. And please share your findings in the posts below. Thank you.
