Who are the Hebrew Gods and What is their Name
Please check out Ha A Vowel before reading this page as it will help you to understand that the ancient Hebrews had all the vowels, they needed to speak their language.
What’s under consideration today is who are the Hebrew Gods and what is the name of the supreme Godhead.
Lets look in Genesis
In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)
Genesis 1 originally says the Gods (Elohim) not God. In the beginning GodH430
H430 – ‘ĕlôhı̂ym – el-o-heem’ – Plural of H433; Gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God.
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens. (Genesis 2:4)
Beginning in Genesis 2:4 the name reads LORDH3068 GodH430 translated from יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהִים which means Jehovah (Yahawah) the Gods.
Let’s use Strong’s Concordance to break it down:
יְהֹוָה
H3068 – yehôvâh – yeh-ho-vaw’ From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: – Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H3050, H3069.
אֱלֹהִים
H430 – ‘ĕlôhı̂ym – el-o-heem’ Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God
הָיָה
H1961 – hâyâh – haw-yaw’ A primitive root (compare H1933); to exist
הָוָה הָוָא
H1933 – hâvâ’ hâvâh haw-vaw’, haw-vaw’ A primitive root (compare H183, H1961) supposed to mean properly to breathe; to be.
אָוָה
H183 – ‘âvâh aw-vaw’ A primitive root; to wish for: – covet, (greatly) desire, be desirous, long, lust (after).
When we break down the name Jehovah (Yahawah) we get two names. One is Hayah as in HaYah Ashar HaYah and the other is HaWah as in HaWah the mother of all living. These are the Gods.
Now you may be asking why not Yah – Awah? Look at the definition of H183 Awah – to wish for, covet, lust after. I know my Gods and that’s not them.
Consider Hawah, the name of our mother, the holy spirit and wisdom.
Hawah the breath of life. The original Mother of all living is who eve named after, although the name Eve as written in the in the bible is Awah. Now Eve did according to H183. She wished for, coveted greatly, desired and longed to be as God. So, Adam may have called Eve – Awah describing her in contrast to the name of the mother of all living Hawah -but we’re not looking into that here.
And Adam called his wife’s name Eve;H2332; because she was the mother of all living. (Genesis 3:20)
Hawah is defined as H1933 , H2332, H2331, H2421 and H2424
חַוָּה
H2332 – chavvâh khav-vaw’ Causative from H2331; lifegiver; Chavvah (or Eve), the first woman: – Eve.
חָוָה
H2331– châvâh khaw-vah’ A primitive root; (compare H2324, H2421); properly to live; by implication (intensively) to declare or show: – show.
חֲוָא
H2324 – chăvâ’ khav-aw’(Chaldee); corresponding to H2331; to show: – shew.
חָוָה
H2421– châyâh khaw-yaw’ A prim root (compare H2331, H2424); to live, whether literally or figuratively; causatively to revive: – keep (leave, make) alive, X certainly, give (promise) life, (let, suffer to) live, nourish up, preserve (alive), quicken, recover, repair, restore (to life), revive, (X God) save (alive, life, lives), X surely, be whole.
חַיּוּת
H2424 -chayûth khah-yooth’ From H2421; life: – X living.
The Holy Spirit is life. She gives life. She can revive, keep and/or make alive. She can let suffer to live, as in allowing us to suffer in order to learn the things that give life, such as humility, obedience, consideration, sharing and serving.
The Name of the Hebrew Gods is Yahweh
I have laid out the details of the word study. Ha-Yah and Ha-Wah is (Yahwah/Yahweh) Elohim (the Gods). Their names are combined like Brangelina. Yahawah, were there together from the beginning they are as man and woman (their image) which was created by them. And they are woven together through the whole of their creation and you can see it – male and female all around you. These two are the one supreme God; a foundation to govern a world of living things.
