Yahweh Is Good All The Time

And, behold, one came and said to him, “Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you call me good? There is none good but one, that is, Yahweh: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17)

The Messiah is consistently directing us toward the father. He never tries to take the glory of our father for himself. Good is a name of our God. Yahweh the supreme God, creator of everything is good. The Messiah doesn’t call himself good because the children of man are not good only Yahweh is good.

We are beloved of Yahweh out creator God. Yahweh made us for our purpose, to act as Yahweh’s representatives in earth. Our job is to manifest Yahweh’s kingdom in earth, by listening to and obeying the Holy Spirt (that inner voice of Yahweh’s wisdom) and to serve Yahweh and the people around us.

Yahweh looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. (Psalm 14:1-3, see also Psalm 53: 1-3 and Romans 3:10-12)

What good is a hammer that doesn’t work. It’s broken and it can’t be used to serve the purpose its creator has for it. We don’t serve our purpose because we choose not to. Everyone has chosen to do what they want.

Every day we are doing what we want and not what Yahweh wants. Should we decide to binge watch any program – that’s not how Yahweh wants us to spend our valuable lifetime. It can be if you are doing it with another person and/or if what you are watching is informing your soul and pleasing to Yahweh. It’s the same for most screen time. The question to be answered is, “Is it bringing you closer to Yahweh?”

The nature of most people in earth is not good or bad, but lukewarm, when we should be on fire for Yahweh. The Messiah knew that we have this propensity not to do what Yahweh wills us to do. That’s why his offer to follow him doesn’t sound like a party.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23 see also Matthew 16:24)

The way starts with sacrifice: denying yourself – pushing aside the things you want to do and doing instead, the things Yahweh wants you to do. Things happen and you don’t respond the way you would, but the way Yahweh directs you to. Instead of screaming, shouting, and demanding, the way is quiet humility, accepting whatever happens, because good and terrible things happen to everyone. The difference is you remain steadfast in all circumstances because you trust in Yahweh.

Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, is like a wise man, who built his house on a rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it did not fall because it was built upon a rock.

And everyone that hears these sayings of mine and does not do them, is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell and the flood came and beat upon that house and it fell: and great was the fall of it. (Matthew 7:24-27)

With Yahweh as our foundation, we can go through difficult, challenging, painful and trying times and not lose ourselves or do things we are ashamed of to make a way for ourselves. Yahweh is our way, and his goodness is our goodness. We face all the circumstances of our life with the strength and power that is Yahweh.

Will you allow Yahweh to be the power that fuels your life?
