You Reap What You Sow

Yahweh is completely just, and people will be justly dealt with according to their character and their treatment of others.

If anyone has ears, let him hear. If [anyone] carries into captivity, he shall himself go into captivity; and if anyone slays with the sword, he must be slain with the sword: here is the patience and the faith of the saints. Revelation 13:9-10

Reaping what you sow is the message in Revelation 13:9-10.

The same message is stated in several other verses.

For surely your blood of your lives I will require; at the hand of all the wild beasts I shall require it, and from the hand of a man’s brother I will require the life of a man. The one shedding the blood of a man, in return his blood shall be shed; for in the image of Yahweh I made the man. Genesis 9:5-6

Then said the Massiah unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Matthew 26:52

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12

Yahweh is not mocked.

But let each one examine his own work, and then he shall have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own burden. And let him who is instructed in the Word share in all that is good, with him who is instructing. Do not be led astray: Our Yahweh is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he shall also reap. Because he who sows to his own flesh shall reap corruption from the flesh, but he who sows to the Spirit shall reap everlasting life from the Spirit. And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then, as we have occasion, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of the belief. Galatians 6:4-10

For he that soweth to his flesh – For those who use their resources and blessings to excessively indulge their bodily desires. They overindulge in extravagance, wastefulness, gluttony, greed and vanity.

Shall of the flesh reap – Under Yahweh’s governance, indulging the flesh is often punished in this life through diseases or deteriorating health from overindulgence. If the punishment is not realized in this life, it will certainly be faced in the afterlife.

Corruption – In the afterlife, their virtue will be entirely gone, and their soul completely debased. All good qualities of the mind will be replaced by their depravity and woe.

But he that soweth to the Spirit – Those who persevere in obedience to Yahweh’s will show they are committed to following His way. It refers to living righteously as a consistent way of life, not isolated acts. The Bible teaches salvation comes through enduring in holiness. God has not promised eternal life apart from living a life patterned after the Holy Spirit.

He who listens to and follows the Holy Spirit will reap life

He who follows the lead and cultivates the affections of the Holy Spirit will sow good things; and shall of the spirit reap everlasting life.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in Yahweh from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13

And they sing the song of Moses the servant of Yahweh, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Yahweh Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Who shall not fear thee, O Yahweh, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. Revelation 15:3-4

And behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True Revelation 19:11

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Yahweh; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:12-15
